About the Friends Collection & College Archives

Welcome to the online finding aids for the Arthur S. and Kathleen Postle Friends Collection and Archives at Earlham College. Our department includes the Friends Collection, the Earlham College Archives, and the rare book collections.

The Friends Collection includes the college's books, periodicals, and manuscripts on Quakerism — one of the best Quaker collections in the world, with more than 14,000 books and nearly as many pamphlets, some dating back to the 17th century. The College Archive is home to Earlham College historical materials.

Unless otherwise noted, the materials described here are physically available in our reading room in Lilly Library and are not digitally available through the web. Please check our hours before visiting, or contact us at archives@earlham.edu.
