Biography

David Elton Trueblood (1900-1994) achieved an international reputation as a Quaker writer and speaker during his years on the Earlham faculty. An Iowa native, he came to Earlham in 1946 with a joint appointment in Religion and Philosophy. He produced dozens of books and hundreds of articles. The best known of the latter, “Why I Chose a Small College,” brought Earlham national attention in the 1950s.
