Biography
Opal Thornburg (1899-1975) was part of a remarkable family, eight sisters who attended Earlham. She graduated in 1923, but spent the rest of her career at Earlham as secretary to two presidents and registrar. In 1958, she became the college archivist and was responsible for arranging and preserving most of the college’s early records. She was the author of the college’s first history, published in 1963.
