Samuel F. Troth, Philadelphia, to John L. Snyder, Somerset, Pa., re: military pension papers. Troth writes in the future, he would prefer not to handle such matters, "owing to my peace principles, and conscientious scruples against having any thing to do with war or the wages of war." Troth (1801-1886) was an Orthodox Friend and attorney of Philadelphia.
