Scope and Contents
Of special interest are two letters, 1819 and 1831, written by family members traveling in Ohio. The bulk of the collection consists of legal papers going back to 1775. They include wills of Daniel Shourds (1775), Evi Smith (1861), and Samuel (1859) and Jerusha White (1862). Also included are files of estates for which William White (1751-1836) was the administrator or executor. Also included are a genealogy of the Bellangee family and four Quaker marriage certificates from 1786 to 1864. Photographs date from about 1860 to the 1940s, many unidentified. The oldest is of Jerusha (Smith) White (1791-1872).
