The Bibles in this collection have been preserved for one or more of the following reasons:
- Belonged to a notable Quaker person or family.
- Belonged to Earlham College and used for a specific purpose. Example: The Earlham Hall Bible, which was used for morning meetings, c. 1895-1930.
- Belonged to a Quaker meeting.
- Contain genealogical information.
- Contain photographs of the family the Bible belonged to.
- Book is interesting and can be used as a teaching tool in classes visiting the Archive. Example: Traveling Salesman Sample Book.
