Third Congress in Kolar Key, Lecture on P.E.K.
Scope and Contents
This collection is primarily comprised of documents, pictures, and reference material from Newton K. Wesley's (Uyesugi's) career in the field of orthokeratology (using contact lenses to reshape the curvature of the eye). The collection is arranged by series based on the original order and loosely chronological. Personal papers from Mr. Wesley are located in series one. Items relating to Mr. Wesley's two large organizations--the Wesley-Jessen Corporation and the National Eye Research Foundation--are included in series two and four respectively. Collections of ophthalmology publications are also found in series three and four. One box of film and VHS tapes comprise series five. One box of books is found under series six. Series seven includes hundreds of photographs from Newton K. Wesley's career and personal life. Series 8 contains thousands of medical slides used by Newton K. Wesley for presentations. Finally, series nine is made up of five separate scrapbooks primarily housing press clippings covering Mr. Wesley's organizations and developments. Most of the materials in this collection have been digitized and are available online, with the exception of materials like financial and medical records, film and VHS tapes, and the scrapbooks.
