Scope and Contents
The National Friends Insurance Trust collection consists of correspondence, court redords, and financial records, documents the case of NFIT versus Philip E. Harmon. Harmon was the administrator of NFIT, and he was convicted of embezzeling $27 million dollars from subsidary organizations belonging to NFIT. Harmon was charged in 1997 of 5 counts of complain. Motions of complaint, indictment, pleas, and restitution compromise roughly half of the collection. This collection also includes finanacial records from 1993-96, as well as claims and billings for policy holders. There are also letters of apology from Harmon himself.
