John D. Carter (1811-1900) was a minister of White Lick Monthly Meeting of Friends in Morgan County, Indiana. His papers include correspondence, business receipts, and a brief diary, 1869, kept by his wife, Ruth (Pickett) Carter (1815-1888). Gift of Rachel Ruoma, 1994.
