Hollingsworth-Heald Papers
Scope and Contents
Correspondents besides Elisha and Sarah Hollingsworth include Ruth Hollingsworth, Abner Heald, and William Fawcett. The letters deal largely with religious concerns and issues among Friends in the 1820s and 1830s. Included is a brief autobiography by Sarah Hollingsworth and an account of her experiences in a meeting for worship in 1820. Also included are typescripts of each document prepared by a descendant.

Biographical or Historical Information
Sarah Heald (1802-1839), daughter of William and Sarah (Wilson) Heald, was a native of Columbiana County, Ohio. In 1820 she married Elisha Hollingsworth (1797-1868), a native of New Castle County, Delaware and the son of Er and Phebe Hollingsworth. In 1837 Elisha and Sarah moved to Morgan County, Ohio, where both died.
