Biographical or Historical Information
John R. Kelso (1791-1880) was a native of Maryland and a wealthy businessman in Baltimore. In 1823 he married Martha Balderson (1800-1883), also a native of Maryland. At the time of the Hicksite Separation in 1828 they were among the small minority of Baltimore Friends who sided with the Orthodox.
