Biographical or Historical Information
Annis (Swaim) Branson was born in Randolph County, North Carolina, Feb. 2, 1821, the daughter of Michael and Susannah (Hinshaw) Swaim, and moved to Henry County, Indiana, as a child. There she married John L. Branson (1815-1870), a native of Ohio, on Dec. 2, 1841. They first lived on a farm near Greensboro, then moved to the village in 1864. Both died there in 1870.
