Scope and Contents
William Macy (1786-1869) was a Quaker farmer born in Guilford County, North Carolina, who moved to Tennessee as a young man and to Indiana in 1820, where he lived in Randolph and Morgan counties. The autobiography gives a vivid picture of life on the Tennessee and Indiana frontiers between 1800 and 1820.
