2 items relating to Abel Thomas (ca 1736-1816), a Friends minister of Exeter, Pennsylvania. The first is a photocopy of the 1824 "Brief Memoir of Abel Thomas." The second is a facsimile of a manuscript, "The Defence of Abel Thomas Accompanied by His Friend James Thomas on a Religious Visit to Friends of New Jersey and New York Governments, Wxamined and Acquitted by the Governor and Council for Their Having Crossed the British Lines without a Pasport Etc in the Year 1778. Transcribed from a Copy taken in Philadelphia 10Mo: 2nd 1778 by Nathan Cleaver 1819."
