Elwood Chappell Perisho (1862-1935), was an 1887 graduate of Earlham College, a geologist, and a long-time member of the faculties of the University and State College of South Dakota and Guilford College. The collection consists of letters to him, largely from family and Earlham classmates. Gift of Ruth Day Purchis, 1992.
Elwood C. Siler
Elwood C. Siler (1831-1896) was a prominent Gurneyite Quaker minister and revivalist of Parke County, Ind. The collection consists of photocopies of his marriage certificate, 1852, to Martha Morris, entries from the Siler family Bible, and a dim photograph.
Elwood J. Meredith Papers
Elwood J. Meredith (1902-1967) was a 1924 graduate of Earlham College, a physician, and an active member of First Friends Meeting in Richmond, Indiana. This small collection relates to Meredith’s service on the Building Committee of the Five Years Meeting of Friends in 1950-54, which oversaw the construction of the present Friends united Meeting headquarters.
