Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Stanton Papers reflect the lives of a Quaker family in Indiana and Ohio in the second half of the nineteenth century.  Most of the collection consists of correspondence, the majority addressed to Emily (Hadley) Stanton from family members and Earlham classmates.  Of particular interest are letters from Emily's non-Quaker suitor, Jesse B.
