William Parry Copybook
William Parry (1810-1894) was a Hicksite Friend of Richmond, Ind. This copybook was used for mathematics and dates from the 1820s. Also included are some accounts, 1827-1829, for William Parry's father, Joseph Parry (1788-1870).
Daniel Baldwin Collection
The collection consists of a deed, 9th Mo. 9, 1823, for the sale of land by the heirs of Daniel Baldwin of Wayne County, Ind. to settle his estate. Found in Coggeshall family bible in a vault at Richmond First Friends, 1990.
Richmond Commonplace Book
A commonplace book, ca. 1870, with essays on travel in Europe, American Indians, and women's rights. The essays are signed by Josie Woodside, Nemi Robertson, and Jessie Robertson. Although found in Richmond, it is uncertain where it was created. Gift of Nancy McDowell.
Janet Whitney Papers
Janet Payne Whitney (1894-1974) was an English Quaker author. These notes, made during a visit to the US in 1960, include material on Quaker history, impressions of West River and Richmond First Friends meetings, and an account of growing evangelicalism within the Five Years Meeting. Gift of Helen Hole, 1967.
"Vision of Joseph Hoag"
Joseph Hoag (1761-1846) was a prominent Orthodox Friends minister in New York and Vermont. His "Vision" of 1803, which purportedly prophesied much future history, including the Civil War, was widely circulated in manuscript among Friends in the 1850s. This copy was in the family of Achilles Dicks (1795-1871), a Friend of Rush Creek Meeting, Parke County, Ind. Second copy from John Bell.

Morgan Jones (ca. 1770-1825) was a Quaker farmer of Bedford County, Pennsylvania, who moved to Wayne County, Ind. about 1821. This collection consists of family and business correspondence, legal documents, and newspaper clippings. Photocopied from originals in possession on Marcia Gaar Lemon of Richmond, 1989.
Sylvester Jones Diary
Sylvester Jones (1875-1949) was a Quaker pastor, missionary in Cuba, and businessman in Chicago, long active in the affairs of the Five Years Meeting. This diary, kept March 12-October 17, 1941, concerns his work as director of Civilian Public Service (CPS), work under the American Friends Service Committee for the central region of the US. Also included are numerous clippings concerning the CPS and the establishment of work camps for conscientious objectors.
