Luther D. Leibold Collection
Luther Daniel Leibold (1877-1957) was a farmer who lived near Williamsburg, Wayne County, Indiana. This small collection consists of an account book, probably done as a school exercise in 1894, and the patent papers for an invention in 1922 with related correspondence. Purchase, 2008.
Miriam A. Maxwell Collection
Miriam A. Maxwell was born in Richmond, Indiana, in 1869, the daughter of John M. and Mary Ann (Moore) Maxwell. In 1898, she married William W. Ives, a dry goods merchant in Delphi, Indiana, and Shawnee, Oklahoma. The collection consists of calling cards, invitations, wedding announcements, and two long letters about social life in Richmond. John Peele Parker (1823-1896) and his wife Miriam Jane (Hill) Parker (1831-1906) were Orthodox Friends who lived in Richmond and Rush County, Indiana. This collection consists of reminiscent family letters written mainly in 1923 as well as genealogy of an 1850 letter to Miriam Jane Hill from her sister Mary Ann Hill. This small collection consists of a beautifully inscribed, handwritten copy of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting’s “Book of Discipline,” dated 1761. The creator, Hannah Roberts, has not been definitively identified. She may be the Hannah Roberts, born 6th Mo. 29, 1742, the daughter of Lewis and Hannah Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
