Janney (1824-1907) was the daughter of Jacob and Esther (Betts) Janney and the wife of Lacey Amasa Atkinson.

The letter has hints that would help dientify the writers, mentioning children Harry, Sarah, Willie, and Lizzie.

Although neither signs with a last name, the identification of Edmund B. Osborn as brother makes their identities clear.
