Letters to Lucy Plummer of Salem and McComb, Ohio, from young female friends. Lucy (Plummer) Wright (1837-1875), daughter of Jonathan and Sarah Plummer, married David Wright in 1861. A native of Pennsylvania, she died in Hancock County, Ohio.

A collection of about 100 studio photographs and snapshots of people, mostly identified, and many from Quaker families, in Wabash and adjacent counties in Indiana. Included are photographs of Quaker ministers Paul and Madeline Todd and Tennyson Lewis. This was found as a lot in Kokomo, Indiana. It may not have originated with one family.

Sarah Cooper Papers

Scope and Contents

Sarah Cooper (born 1803, Maryland), was an Orthodox Friend, the daughter of Nicholas and Sarah (Balderston) Cooper. She moved to Belmont County, Ohio, in 1832, where she was a member of Flushing Monthly Meeting. In 1837 she married Joseph F. Garretson (ca. 1812-1840) and second, in 1846, John Michener (1785-1872). She died after 1880. All of the letters predate her marriages.

Craven and Ira R. Craven were natives of Morgan County, Indiana, who died in Yamhill County, Oregon. John D. Craven was their cousin.

Legal papers relating to a trespass suit filed by Thomas C. Anthony, a Friend of Wilmington, Clinton County, Ohio, against Lewis Gibler, for trespass, re: seizure of goods for unpaid militia fines. Thomas Clark Anthony, born 1796, was a native of Virginia. The Anthonys were leading Hicksite Friends in southwestern Ohio. He died in Muscatine County, Iowa, in 1855.
