Biography
The Theological Education Fund was first created as a service of the Commission on World Missions and Evangelism in order to help train ministers in non-European regions. The fund was superseded by the Programme on Theological Education in 1997, and shifted away from funding theological education outside of Europe and towards facilitating dialogue and promoting common standards for theological education. Since 1992, it has been known as Ecumenical Theological Education.
