Scope and Contents

The Hussey Family Papers, 1800-1850 collection includes deeds, receipts, and other legal documents of the Quaker Hussey family of Highland County, Ohio. It spans five folders. The items of this collection are protected inside of acid-free paper. Documents are fragile, as expected with their age. Some items are oversized. The order of the items inside each folder is chronological. The first folder contains will and probate papers from the years between 1765 and 1849. The second folder contains property deeds and indentured servitude contracts from 1807 to 1861. The third folder contains certificate records of stock purchases from 1817 to 1865. The fourth folder contains legal records of money transactions between the years of 1788 and 1855. The fifth and final folder contains two original envelopes and two saloon passenger lists.
