Biographical or Historical Information

Ruth Perisho Day (1898-1981) was a native of Hamilton County, Indiana. She graduated from Earlham College in 1922, and in 1923 married Clyde T. Caldwell (1897-1984), a fellow Earlham alumnus. After he obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Illinois, they resided in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he was a research scientist for the Upjohn Company. Ruth Caldwell was an active clubwoman, especially in the American Association of University Women, and a weaver.
