William F. and Margaret Smith Satterthwaite Papers
Scope and Contents
This collection consists entirely of correspondence, with a few attached clippings. Nearly all of it is with family members, mainly between William and Margaret or between them and their parents. It reflects middle-class life in the era of the Great Depression. Margaret Satterthwaite was an unusually vivid and candid correspondent. Comments on the 1932 election are also striking.
