Biographical or Historical Information

Dr. John T. Plummer (1807-1865) was a prominent Richmond, Indiana, physician and naturalist and the clerk of Indiana Yearly Meeting of Friends (Hicksite). Dr. Plummer practiced medicine on Fort Wayne Avenue from 1828 until 1864. He wrote for articles for a variety of periodicals on topics such as education, pharmacy, and agriculture. He also produced a history of early Richmond as well as readers for Friends’ schools.
