4 volumes: 1 scrapbook kept by Mary (Eckert) Weinland, mainly clippings of her contributions to local journals, including an interview with Elvira (Cain) Townsend (1768-1870) of West Elkton, Ohio; and 3 volumes of account books, ca. 1848-1883, kept by Dr. Jacob S. Weinland of West Elkton. They include business records, lists of illnesses treated, and an extensive list of deaths in the West Elkton, Preble County, Ohio, area, 1848-1883. Although the Weinlands were not Quakers, these volumes document the lives of many Preble County Quakers.

Biographical / Historical
Dr. Jacob S. Weinland (1819-1883, a native of Fairfield, County, Ohio, was a physician and druggist in West Elkton, Preble County, Ohio. In 1840 he married Mary Magdelane Eckert (1818-1899).
