Henley-Trueblood Collection
The Henley-Trueblood Collection consists of photographs, daguerrotypes, and other images of nineteenth century Quakers largely in Washington and Rush Counties, IN. Most are related to Edwin P. Trueblood (1861-1951), long-time Earlham faculty member, and his wife Pennina (Henley) Trueblood (1863-1943). Many of the photographs are identified.
Henry Criss Execution Poem
Typescript of reprint in Richmond Telegram, 1870s, of a pamphlet composed by William McKimmey about the murder of Chambers in Wayne County, Indiana, by his father-in-law Henry Criss and Criss's hanging April 1, 1816. The article refers to a pamphlet published in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio.
Henry Hoover Collection
Henry Hoover (1788-1868) was one of the first Quaker settlers near Richmond, Ind. The collection consists of two different typescripts of his autobiography, "Sketches and Incidents, Embracing a Period of Fifty Years." Gift of Eugene and Ruth Williams, 1994.
Henry Underwood Johnson
Henry Underwood Johnson (1850-1939), att. 1867-1869, was a Richmond attorney, state legislator, and member of the US House of Representatives 1891-1899. These letters, written almost daily, are to his brother Robert U. Johnson (1853-1937), New York City literateur and editor of the Century magazine. They contain family and local news as well as Henry U. Johnson's political and social views. Gift of Meredith Johnson, 1942.

Herbert Hoover Collection
Herbert Clark Hoover (1874-1964) was the first Quaker president of the United States (1929-1933). This small collection consists of material on Hoover's visits to Earlham College in 1922 and 1939 and a 1960 letter on his speech to the Republican National Convention.

Herschel Johnson Collection
Herschel Johnson (1884- ) was a fundamentalist Quaker preacher and writer of Muncie, Ind. Born near Winchester, Ind., he was a member of Central Yearly Meeting. The collection consists of an autobiography and two sermons, "The Wrath of God" and "The Holy Ghost." Transferred from FMS 33.
