Gordon R. Coffin Collection

Scope and Contents Gordon Reid Coffin, a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a life-long Quaker. This collection documents his experience, from 1942 to 1946, as a participant in Civilian Public Service (CPS), the alternative service program for conscientious objectors during World War II. The Henley-Trueblood Collection consists of photographs, daguerrotypes, and other images of nineteenth century Quakers largely in Washington and Rush Counties, IN.  Most are related to Edwin P. Trueblood (1861-1951), long-time Earlham faculty member, and his wife Pennina (Henley) Trueblood (1863-1943). Many of the photographs are identified.

Henry Wilson Papers

Scope and Contents The Henry Wilson Papers reflect the life of a "weighty" Friend in southern Indiana in the first half of the nineteenth century. Although small, the collection is an important source for the migration of North Carolina Friends to Indiana. James Hadley Diary

H.” Hadley made regular entries on a variety of topics: politics; the births, marriages, illnesses, and deaths of neighbors and family; and especially changes in Quakerism.
