Tilnias Thornburg was a Quaker farmer who lived near Neff in Randolph County, Indiana. This collection of diaries and genealogical material reflects rural life in Indiana in the late nineteenth century. His diaries reflect rural life; weather; work; visits to family and neighbors; neighborhood births, marriages, illnesses, and deaths; and attending Friends meeting, with ocassional references to politics and public affairs.
