Cook Family Letters
James and Lucinda (Potter) Cook were married in Wayne County, Ind. in 1850. In the 1860s and 1870s they resided in Richmond. This collection consists of twelve letters, 1869-1879, mostly written by Sarah Potter, the mother of Lucinda Potter Cook. Also included is a photograph of Thomas H. and Anna Cook, the parents of James Cook. Gift of Lucille Hatch, 1982.

Ann Williams Hunt Collection
Ann (Williams) Hunt (1816-1849) was an Orthodox Friend who lived in Highland County, Ohio, and, after her marriage to Dr. Pleasant Hunt (1820-1892) in Randolph County, Ind. The collection consists of their marriage certificate and a commonplace book containing arithmetic exercises, poetry, records of the Hunt and Williams families, and an account of a vision by James Johnson in 1773. Gift of Lenora Bond Amburn, 1967.
Micah and Mary Newby Papers
Micah Newby (1790-1853) and his second wife, Mary Dicks Coffin Newby (1792-1882), were Friends of Blue River Monthly Meeting in Washington County, Ind., and Raysville Meeting in Henry County, Ind. These papers consist of nine letters, 1822-1853, from Mary Newby's father, Bethuel Coffin (1756-1839), and brother Elijah Coffin (1798-1862) in Guilford County, North Carolina, and Wayne and Henry counties in Indiana. Also: arithmetic book, 1816-1818. Gift of John E. Parker, 1970.

Earl A. Thomas Collection
Earl A. Thomas (1900-1927) was a Richmond, Ind. resident and onetime member of First Friends Meeting there who served as a US Naval Aviator during the US intervention in Nicaragua in 1927. He apparently was killed by Sandino forces. The collection consists of four letters by Earl Thomas to his mother Gertrude Thomas of Richmond, June 11-September 20, 1927, with newspaper clippings and correspondence relating to his death.
